Currently, we have 170 blind students in primary and secondary school. The children come from all parts of Rwanda. They remain with us during the entire school year while we provide care and security 24/7.
The Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters Servants of the Cross was founded by the blind Mother Elżbieta Róża Czacka. In September 2021 the solem beatification of our Foundress took place in Warsaw.
"Service of Light" is the international name of the Congregation's activities outside Europe.

The charism of the Congregation of Franciscan Sisters Servants of the Cross, established in 1918 by the blind Mother Elzbieta Roza Czacka, is service and work with the blind.
“Serving the Light” is an international enterprise of the Congregation led in Asia and Africa.

Blind child has right to education, and money should not be an obstacle. ADOPTION OF THE HEART is a program, where Donors agree to pay for the education and living costs of a blind student that attends our Institute.
